How to Buy Telegram Stars: 4 Ways, Step by Step

This guide shows how to buy Telegram Stars four ways: inside the Telegram app, on Fragment with crypto, through an independent store that delivers to a @username, or as a gift from a friend. Each method comes with step-by-step instructions, followed by a side-by-side comparison of price and requirements, iPhone specifics and fixes for the problems people run into most often. All prices were checked on September 23, 2026.

How to get Telegram Stars: four ways

  • In the Telegram app. You pay through the App Store, Google Play or @PremiumBot, depending on your device. The simplest route if a payment method is already set up.
  • On Fragment. You pay in GRAM, USDT or USDC from a crypto wallet. At $15 per 1,000 Stars it undercuts the US App Store price, but you need a funded wallet.
  • Through an independent store. You give the store a @username and pay; the store tops up that account. No wallet has to be connected to a website.
  • As a gift. A friend buys Stars for you in the app or on Fragment.

Whichever route you choose, the Stars end up in the same place: the personal Stars balance on your Telegram account. The balance belongs to the account, not to the phone or the store you paid through.

Method 1: Buy Stars in the Telegram app

Telegram's Terms of Service for Stars list the in-app channels: in-app purchases in the iOS app and in Telegram for Android, plus @PremiumBot, which handles purchases in the direct Android version from telegram.org and in the Desktop and Web apps. Telegram does not process these payments itself; Apple, Google or the payment processor does.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings in Telegram and tap Your Stars.
  2. Tap Buy More Stars. The Get Stars sheet opens and asks how many Stars you would like to buy.
  3. Pick a package. Tap Show More Options if you need a larger one.
  4. Confirm the purchase in Apple's payment sheet. Telegram then shows Stars Acquired and adds the Stars to your balance.

On Android

  1. Open Settings and tap Your Stars.
  2. Tap Buy More Stars and pick an option under Choose package.
  3. Pay with your Google Play payment method. If you installed Telegram from telegram.org instead of Google Play, the payment goes through @PremiumBot.

On Telegram Desktop

  1. Open Settings and click My Stars.
  2. Click Top Up Balance and pick an option under Choose package. More Options shows larger amounts.
  3. Complete the payment, which Telegram routes through @PremiumBot on desktop.

You don't always need to start in Settings. When you try to spend more Stars than you have, for example on a bot, a paid post or a gift, Telegram opens the same purchase sheet with a prompt to buy Stars.

Method 2: Buy Telegram Stars with crypto on Fragment

Fragment is a platform for buying Telegram services such as Premium and Stars with crypto. Telegram's API documentation lists it as an alternative way to pay for Stars, one that also allows larger purchases. You pay from a crypto wallet instead of an app store account.

On September 23, 2026, Fragment listed 1,000 Stars at $15, or about 10.35 GRAM at that day's rate (the GRAM figure moves with the market). You can order any amount from 50 to 10,000,000 Stars, and the rate stays at $0.015 per Star at every size. GRAM, formerly Toncoin, is the native coin of the TON blockchain; the FAQ below explains the name change.

At checkout, Fragment offers three currencies:

  • GRAM on the TON network
  • USDT on TON, Ethereum or Polygon
  • USDC on Ethereum, Base or Polygon

Fragment asks you to connect a TON wallet and your Telegram account. Its own guide suggests non-custodial wallets such as Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet and warns that exchanges selling Gram may ask for identification.

  1. Open fragment.com, go to Stars and tap Buy Stars Package.
  2. Use Connect TON to link your wallet and Connect Telegram to log in.
  3. Under Choose recipient, enter your own @username or someone else's.
  4. Type an amount under Choose quantity of Telegram Stars, or pick one under Or select a package.
  5. Choose a Payment Method and tap the buy button, which shows your amount, for example Buy 1,000 Telegram Stars. In the Buy Stars for [name] window, confirm and approve the transaction in your wallet.
  6. Check the balance in Telegram under Settings → Your Stars (My Stars on Desktop). Fragment keeps a record under View Transactions History.

Network fees come on top of the Stars price. On TON, ton.org lists a basic Gram transfer at about 0.00039 GRAM and a USDT transfer at about 0.001 GRAM; Ethereum, Base and Polygon charge their own fees. Fragment's terms note that TON transactions cannot be reversed, so check the recipient before you approve.

For wallet setup and a closer look at each payment network, see our guide to buying Stars on Fragment.

Method 3: Order from an independent store

Independent stores sell Stars to people who don't want to use an app store or connect a wallet to a website. Because Stars can be bought for another account by @username (Fragment's form has a recipient field for exactly this), a store can deliver them without ever touching your account. You tell the store which @username should receive the Stars, pay, and the store tops up that balance.

What you typically need:

  • The recipient's public @username. You can set one in Telegram Settings.
  • A payment method the store accepts. Options vary by store; some accept crypto such as USDT, which you can send from an exchange account or any wallet.

Prices are set by each seller, so compare the total for 1,000 Stars with Fragment's published rate before you pay. A few checks keep the risk low:

  • Share only the @username. Telegram's FAQ says login codes for your account should never be shared with anyone, including other services or apps. A store that asks for a code or a password is a red flag.
  • Send the exact amount on the exact network shown in the invoice.
  • Test the support contact with a question before you pay.
  • Know the limits of Telegram's dispute process. The /paysupport route in the Stars terms is for purchases made from bots and mini apps. An order placed on an outside website is covered by that seller's own policy.

TgSuperstars, the site you are reading, is an independent service of this kind. Our English checkout is not open yet; if you have questions in the meantime, contact our support team, which replies in English in Telegram.

Method 4: Get Stars as a gift

Since July 2024, Telegram has let users buy Stars as a gift for their contacts. The person paying does this on their side:

  1. Open Settings → Your Stars and tap Gift Stars to Friends.
  2. Choose the contact and a package, then pay the same way as for a regular purchase.

Gifted Stars show up in your chat with the sender as an animated gift box and go to your balance. A friend with a crypto wallet can do the same on Fragment by entering your @username as the recipient. For the full walkthrough, see how to send Telegram Stars.

On price alone, Fragment's $15 is 25% below the $19.99 US App Store price for the same 1,000 Stars. The trade-off is setup: you need a funded wallet and some comfort with sending crypto. For a one-off purchase of a few hundred Stars, the in-app route is usually simpler. For larger amounts, or if you already hold USDT or GRAM, Fragment or an independent store makes more sense.

How to buy Telegram Stars on iPhone

On iOS, Stars are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system, and your billing relationship is with Apple. Questions about a charge go to Apple, not Telegram.

Prices in the US App Store

The Telegram listing on the App Store showed these Stars packages on September 23, 2026:

PackagePricePer 1,000 Stars
100 Stars$1.99$19.90
250 Stars$5.09$20.36
500 Stars$9.99$19.98
750 Stars$14.99$19.99
1,000 Stars$19.99$19.99
1,500 Stars$29.99$19.99
2,500 Stars$50.90$20.36

The App Store page lists only a selection of in-app purchases, so the app itself may offer more packages. Among those listed, the 250 and 2,500 packages cost slightly more per Star than the rest. Stores in other countries have their own prices, and Telegram's Stars terms note that local taxes and payment providers' conversion rates may apply.

How to buy Telegram Stars without Apple Pay

Apple Pay isn't required. In-app purchases are charged to your Apple Account, and in the United States Apple accepts most credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Account balance from Apple Gift Cards, Apple Cash and Apple Card alongside Apple Pay. Accepted methods vary by country. If you'd rather not use your Apple Account at all, buy on Fragment in Safari with a wallet app, or use an independent store.

If “Your Stars” is missing from Settings

When Stars gifting launched in July 2024, Telegram noted that on iOS the Stars menu in Settings appeared only after a first purchase for yourself. If you don't see it, update the app, or start a purchase from any place that asks for Stars, which opens the same purchase sheet.

Common problems and fixes

  • The payment is declined. Telegram doesn't process Stars payments; the App Store, Google Play or @PremiumBot's payment processor does. Check the payment method on that account and contact that provider if a charge fails or looks wrong.
  • Stars bought on Fragment haven't appeared. Confirm the transaction in your wallet and under View Transactions History on Fragment, and check that the recipient @username was right. Fragment's guide says blockchain transactions usually go through within seconds but can sometimes take longer.
  • The purchase option is missing or blocked. Telegram's API documentation tells apps to turn off Stars for an account when regional limitations apply, and the Stars terms say local laws can force Telegram to prevent purchases in some jurisdictions. Reinstalling or updating the app won't lift a block like this.
  • A bot took your Stars but didn't deliver. Send the bot the /paysupport command. If the developer refuses a legitimate refund, copy the transaction ID from Your Stars in Settings and report it to Telegram, as described in the Stars terms.
  • You bought the wrong package. The Stars terms say all sales are final and Telegram doesn't refund unwanted or accidental purchases. If you paid through Apple or Google, the charge falls under that store's terms, since your billing relationship is with them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy Telegram Stars with a credit card?

Yes, inside the Telegram app. On iPhone and iPad the charge goes to your Apple Account, and in the United States Apple accepts most credit and debit cards. On Android the purchase goes through Google Play, and on Desktop and Web through the @PremiumBot checkout; both show their accepted methods before you pay. Fragment does not take cards: it accepts only GRAM, USDT and USDC.

Can I buy Telegram Stars with TON coin?

Yes, on Fragment, but under a new name. After a community vote, the TON blockchain's native coin was renamed from Toncoin to Gram, and its ticker changed from TON to GRAM on June 15, 2026. It is the same coin: balances and addresses stayed as they were, with no swap or migration. Fragment lists it as GRAM on the TON network. Any site asking you to claim GRAM or migrate TON is a scam.

Can I buy Telegram Stars without the mobile app?

Yes. Telegram's Stars terms list @PremiumBot as the way to buy Stars in the Web and Desktop apps, so a computer is enough. Fragment also works in any browser: you log in with Connect Telegram, connect a TON wallet and enter the @username that should receive the Stars. Either way, the Stars land on the same account balance you see on your phone.

Can I send Stars from my balance to someone else?

Not directly. Telegram's Stars terms don't allow you to transfer or sell Stars that are already on your balance. You can, however, buy new Stars as a present with Gift Stars to Friends, or spend your Stars on a Telegram gift and send that instead. Our guide on how to send Telegram Stars covers both options.

Do I need a Telegram username to receive Stars?

Only for some methods. In-app purchases for yourself go straight to your own balance, and in-app gifts are sent to a contact you pick from a list. Fragment's form, however, asks you to enter a Telegram username, and independent stores work the same way. You can set a username in Telegram Settings; keep in mind that anyone who finds it can message you.
